A
thin coating was applied to cover the previously exposed rebar. (See Photo 1). This condition has been previously reported and no
significant changes were noted.
There were no significant defects noted.
(58) 6DECK RATING =
(36a) Rail Code 0000
331 Railing-RC
Delamination/Spall/Patched Area
2
2
23
10
m
each
13
0
0
0
10
10
0
0
JOINT/APPROACH/RAIL ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
1080
RAIL INFORMATION
(36b) Transition (36c) Appr Guardrail (36d) Appr Guardrail End 55Roadway Speed MPH
JOINT - APPROACH - RAIL
(331-1080) Delamination/Spall/Patched Area
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition StateDefect/
Prot Defect
There are spalls up to 24 inches tall x 4 inches deep. In the left interior rail, the spalling is up to 6 feet long randomly
located and in the right interior rail the spalling is up to 20 feet long in Span 1 with smaller spalling throughout. These spalls
expose rebar with minor section loss. However, there is paint over some of the rebar preventing a thorough inspection at
those locations. (See Photos 2 through 4). These conditions have been previously reported and length of spalling in the left
rail and rebar section loss were noted.
