Coarse aggregate is visible but
appeared sound. The pile extensions within approximately 27 inches of the RC caps did not exhibit abrasion. Refer to Photo 4.
Based on a comparison to the 03/25/2019 Photo 12, this condition has remained unchanged.
The pile element is included to indicate the presence of piles on this structure. The piles were not exposed for visual inspection. No
indication of pile distress was noted in any substructure element. The monolithic wingwalls have been included in the quantity of
Element 215.
-----
Erosion is present at the end of the wingwalls at both sides of Abutment 4. The end of the wingall at the left side is undermined
approximately 8 to 12 inches x 4 inches vertically along a section 2 feet in length.
The end of the wingwall on the left side of Abutment 4 is protected by AC and broken concrete. The end of the wingwall on the right
side of Abutment 4 is protected with poured concrete.
The erosion conditions did not warrant a defect at this time. See Photos 14 to 15 and 17 to 19 dated 03/25/2019.
There is minor abrasion present on the lower portions of the wingwalls and faces of the RC abutments. Coarse aggregate is visible
but appeared sound. The abutments within approximately 38 to 40 inches of the RC slab did not exhibit abrasion. Refer to Photo 4.
The pile element is included to indicate the presence of piles on this structure. The piles were not exposed for visual inspection. No
indication of pile distress was noted in any substructure element.
No significant defects were observed.
