The soffit efflorescence appears to coincide with the deck cracks and
has been captured in element 1130 (cracking) defect.
The left side of the Span 1 soffit has an approximately 15 foot long diagonal crack with efflorescence emanating from the abutment.
Near the centerline of the soffit Span 2 there is a 4 foot long longitudinal crack with efflorescence. The Span 7 soffit has several up to
10 foot long longitudinal cracks with efflorescence. The Span 8 soffit has one approximately 25 foot long longitudinal crack with
efflorescence near the centerline of the bridge. Refer to Photos 6 through 9.
There are 0.03 to 0.07 inch wide interconnecting transverse, diagonal, and longitudinal cracks spaced at 1 to 2 feet apart throughout
the deck surface.
The cracks noted above were previously treated with methacrylate but have since opened back up.
Refer to Photos 10 through 13.

The methacrylate deck treatment that was applied in 2005 is worn and no longer effective.
(58) 5DECK RATING =
