Department of Transportation - Division of Maintenance <br />Structure Maintenance & Investigations <br />INSPECTION COMMENTARY <br />SCOPE AND ACCESS <br />The channel was flowing with 3 feet of water below all three spans and there was approximately 3.5 feet of freeboard at the time of this <br />investigation. The Abutments were out of the water, but Bents 2 and 3 were submerged. The deck was inspected by walking on and <br />about the structure. The substructure and soffit was inspected by walking underneath the structure and probing the bents with a 20 foot <br />extension pole. A complete routine inspection was performed. <br />DECK AND ROADWAY <br />The cracking at both AC approaches has been addressed by re -surfacing both approaches. See Photos 1 and 2. <br />WATERWAY <br />Pier 2 Column 1 has 1 cubic yard of debris build up. See Photo 3. <br />SAFE LOAD CAPACITY <br />The load rating for this structure is being reviewed by SM&I Ratings Branch under Work Request No. 12541. An updated Load Rating <br />Summary Sheet will be archived when this review is complete.
