2.Cross-cutting is allowed under the same conditions as Seclion 2- <br />5.02(B)(3).If cross-culs occur within lhe 150 feel minimum inlelVal, <br />resurfacing may be subsliluled wilh a slurry seal for lhat half of <br />lhe roadway.(See Counly Standard Drawing No.R-36). <br />2-5.04 Exceptions <br />Excavalion is prohibited in newly renovaled County roadways for three (3) <br />years after a nolice of completion has been filed for a roadway improvement <br />project,or a new roadway has been accepted.The Director of Public Works <br />may approve exceptions that are in the best interest of the public,including <br />bul nollimiled 10: <br />A.An emergency lhat endangers life or property. <br />B.For repair or modification to prevent inlerruption of essential utility <br />selVice. <br />C.For relocalion work that is mandated by County,State or Federal <br />law. <br />D.For selVice for buildings where no other reasonable means of <br />providing selVice exists. <br />E.For potholing to verify ulility depth or location. <br />F.For trench less excavations greater than three feet in deplh of cover <br />over lhe utilily facility,and not requiring a significant surface <br />Incision grealer lhan induslry bore pit standards. <br />Exceplions musl be requesled and submitted in writing to lhe Department. <br />Payment of a nonrefundable processing fee is also required.Exceptions <br />will be reviewed using the Departments Aclion Approval process,which <br />requires the recommendalion of a Deputy Direclor. <br />43
