Describe procedures for immediate inspection, isolation,and shutdown of equipment or CES <br /> systems that may be involved in a hazardous materials release or threatened release. <br /> Visual inspection of all affected areas or equipment will occur immediately. Any leaking containers or <br /> equipment will be isolated and appropriate mitigation procedures will be implemented. Contain materials as <br /> appropriate by arranging physical barriers use of absorbents fl.g-acid neutralizing absorber,alkaline neutralizing <br /> absorber,baking soda,dirt or other absorbent material as applicable). Area will be isolated using hazard tape, <br /> signs cones rope etc Once the area is secured and the release has been contained clean up procedures will be <br /> initiated and all released Waste materials will be placed in a properly marked and sealable container(Le.drum, <br /> barrel, sturdy bag etc) on a pallet (as applicable) for proper disposal If the used Waste materials are <br /> associated with a acid spill or alkaline spill(for battery spills segregate acids Waste from alkaline Waste),the <br /> container should be labeled"Used Clean-Up Supplies and Absorbent Materials from Lead Acid Spill"OR"Used <br /> Clean-Up Supplies from Alkaline Battery Spill"•as applicable(place a completcd Hazardous Waste Label on the <br /> container and indicate if the Waste is A id Bogy Waste or Alkaline Baggy Waste), Any spill that has entered a <br /> storm drain becomes a reportable spill to external agencies. The extemal agency should be contacted <br /> immediately by the appropriate environmental department personnel For disposal activities,the person should <br /> call the AT&T emergency call center to dispatch a designated vendor for disposal of the used material. The <br /> vendor will provide containment(as appropriate)of the Waste materials including appropriate wrapping and <br /> packaging(for example• tape/cEips on battery terminal posts and plugfseal batteries to prevent splashing or <br /> leakage of electrolyte etc)the Waste materials The vendor will create and provide AT&T on-site personnel <br /> the appropriate shipping/transporting documents (Bill-of-Lading Uniform Waste Manifest) prior to <br /> transporting material. A copy of the documents shall also be maintained onsite. <br />
