Describe procedures for immediate inspection, isolation,and shutdown of equipment or CES systems that may be involved in a hazardous materials release or threatened release. Visual inspection of all affected areas or equipment will occur immediately. Any leaking containers or equipment will be isolated and appropriate mitigation procedures will be implemented. Contain materials as appropriate by arranging physical barriers use of absorbents fl.g-acid neutralizing absorber,alkaline neutralizing absorber,baking soda,dirt or other absorbent material as applicable). Area will be isolated using hazard tape, signs cones rope etc Once the area is secured and the release has been contained clean up procedures will be initiated and all released Waste materials will be placed in a properly marked and sealable container(Le.drum, barrel, sturdy bag etc) on a pallet (as applicable) for proper disposal If the used Waste materials are associated with a acid spill or alkaline spill(for battery spills segregate acids Waste from alkaline Waste),the container should be labeled"Used Clean-Up Supplies and Absorbent Materials from Lead Acid Spill"OR"Used Clean-Up Supplies from Alkaline Battery Spill"•as applicable(place a completcd Hazardous Waste Label on the container and indicate if the Waste is A id Bogy Waste or Alkaline Baggy Waste), Any spill that has entered a storm drain becomes a reportable spill to external agencies. The extemal agency should be contacted immediately by the appropriate environmental department personnel For disposal activities,the person should call the AT&T emergency call center to dispatch a designated vendor for disposal of the used material. The vendor will provide containment(as appropriate)of the Waste materials including appropriate wrapping and packaging(for example• tape/cEips on battery terminal posts and plugfseal batteries to prevent splashing or leakage of electrolyte etc)the Waste materials The vendor will create and provide AT&T on-site personnel the appropriate shipping/transporting documents (Bill-of-Lading Uniform Waste Manifest) prior to transporting material. A copy of the documents shall also be maintained onsite.
