John Stephenson 209-628-7275
2. Rod Hanson 435-979-0923
3. Chris Hughes 801-513-8637
Possible Emergency Scenarios: The following is a list of possible fire scenarios:
1. Office walls ignite.
2. Electrical fire in a panel or at a connection.
3. Acetylene bottle explosion.
4. Automobile fire.
Emergency Response Equipment Needs: There are fire extinguishers located throughout the facility.
The fire extinguishers are rated for type ABC fires.
Critical Plant Operations Shut Down Or Control: In the event of a fire all personnel will immediately
stop unloading rail cars, and shut down the equipment(providing it does not place the person in harm's
way). Also, if a truck is being loaded, the loader will stop, raise the spouts and tell the driver to pull
outside the gate. Any trucks in line will be told to turn around if possible,or drive across the scale and
out the gate(if safe to do so),or stay where they are(if safe to do so). The person in charge will assess
the situation and determine if the fire is small and can be extinguished with a fire extinguisher,or if the
Fire Department should be notified.
Personnel Evacuation and Accounting: All personnel will evacuate to the closest gathering point. That
is the area Front Gate Area (see attached plot plan). Because the predominant wind direction is from
the west,do not gather in or on the backside of the office building(especially if the fire is in that
building).
Emergency Response Training Requirements: All personnel have been instructed in the use of a fire
extinguisher. All personnel have also been instructed not to place their life in danger trying to
extinguish a fire. If the fire is small enough to be extinguished by a fire extinguisher, it is permissible to
attempt to extinguish the fire. However, remember to keep an escape route to your back. If you choose
not to attempt to distinguish it or the fire is larger than the extinguisher can extinguish, then
immediately contact the fire department at 911. Fire response training will be conducted annually.
