Attempt to extinguish the fire only if you have received traihWBA DEPARTMENT <br /> the use of portable fire extinguishers, the fire is in its beginning <br /> stage, and it can be extinguished safely. <br /> e. Disabled and non-ambulatory (unable to walk personnel) should <br /> request assistance from those nearest to them. Advise the <br /> Emergency Services Personnel of personnel trapped who may <br /> require assistance to evacuate. <br /> VI. Earthquake Emergency Procedures <br /> a. If you are indoors, stay there. Take shelter under a desk, table, or <br /> in a doorway. If you cannot get under something sturdy or stand in <br /> a doorway, get on your hands and knees and cover your head with <br /> your hands and arms. <br /> b. If you are outdoors, go to an open area away from trees, buildings, <br /> walls, roadways and power lines. <br /> c. If the building is evacuated, do not return until authorized. <br /> d. Beware of potential dangers after an earthquake such as escaping <br /> gas, unstable building structures, electrical hazards, etc. Also <br /> beware of aftershocks. <br /> VII. HazMat Release <br /> a. The materials located on-site that are considered to be "HazMat" <br /> are quaternary ammonia ("quat",) Alpet sanitizer, petroleum asphalt <br /> sealer, propane, diesel fuel, phosphine, and mineral oil used in the <br /> three electrical transformers (two 3,000 kVA transformers located <br /> between the electrical switchgear room and the maintenance shop <br /> and one 7,500 kVA transformer located in the substation at the <br /> northwest corner of the property.) <br /> b. Cleaners and sanitizers (quat, Alpet) purchased in drums must be <br /> held on spill containment pallets to contain spills. The diesel fuel <br /> tank must be in a containment vessel. The other hazmat must be <br /> protected from damage by being held in a secured area or <br /> protected by bollards. <br /> VIII. Evacuation of the Disabled <br /> (Note: Since the building is single story, no special considerations for <br /> stairway and elevators for evacuation of disabled persons are <br /> required.) <br /> IX. Serious Injury <br /> 6 <br />
