2.6 Natural Disaster <br />The following provides instructions on how the Market Manager and the SSM/DM are to <br />safely resume operations after a natural disaster (flood, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc). <br />1. Ensure the safety of all District personnel at all times. <br />2. Carefully, perform a District safety inspection of all District structures and <br />mechanical/electrical equipment, vehicles, storage tanks, and piers. Look for obvious <br />damage. <br />3. Ensure a safe environment for the office personnel and the safe operation of all <br />pumps, hoses, piping, valves, vehicles and related equipment. <br />4. <br />If the District is unsafe, establish operations at the closest suitable District and/or <br />satellite. <br />5. <br />Re-establish communications with other District(s) and Market management. Market <br />Manager will communicate the situation to Valley Forge management. <br />6. <br />Re-establish contact with Insurance carrier and have them assign a contact person <br />3`a <br />who will work directly with the affected District on workers' compensation and <br />Paul Monaco (610) 337-1000 (x.3150) <br />and Amemtte Smith (610)337-10 0 (x.3162).contracts: <br />7. <br />Establish a contact person for fire & law enforcement services and local media in the <br />affected areas. Natural Disaster information can be found on the www.amerisas.com <br />website. <br />8. <br />Assemble and brief inspection teams. Provide employees with information and <br />warnings of potential hazard from animals, downed electrical wires and poles, road <br />conditions, unstable ground, and the like. Have them prepare their vehicles with <br />necessary materials, supplies, water, fuel and survival materials. <br />9. <br />Establish, if possible, regular check-in intervals (for example, every hour or every 2 <br />hours) to ensure the safety of the crews and to provide update information. <br />10. <br />Use the AmeriGas grid system to identify and schedule inspections and repairs of <br />customer installations in the damage path area. <br />11. <br />Initiate a tiered priority inspection and service system Highest tiered priority would <br />be leaking systems or tanks, next should be hospitals, nursing homes, emergency <br />services, telecommunications facilities and so forth. <br />12. <br />Coordinate scheduled Customer Safety Check inspections with contact person at the <br />fire and law enforcement services in affected areas. <br />RECEIVED <br />JAN 19 2016 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL <br />• • HEALTH DEPARTMENT <br />
