0 0
UNPLANNED RELEASE OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALSM►ASTE
. In the event of a hazardous material, hazardous waste, or hazardous gas release
to air, soil, or surface water, the personnel at the location must immediately
report the release to one of the emergency coordinators in the facility. The
emergency coordinator will assess the magnitude and nature of the release, and
immediately take necessary actions of notifying other potentially affected
employees and reporting it to the relevant local and state authorities for possible
evacuation of the surrounding areas.
2. Without delay, others in the affected area should act promptly to contain the
release.
3. The emergency coordinator(s) will perform the following:
A. Attempt to identify the source of the release (a leaking vessel, container,
gas line, or an over-turned container, etc.) and the cause of the release so
that appropriate corrective action can be taken.
B. Remove all sources of ignition from the area to avoid escalating the
problem.
C. Clear the area of other objects and sources of additional hazardous
materials and wastes.
D. Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment when cleaning up a
spill. Avoid contact with skin and avoid breathing the fumes. For a list of
clothing and equipment that should be used when dealing with hazardous
the
materials and wastes, see the ,Spill and Safety Equipment" pag
Appendix.
Contingency Plan
500 South Beckman Road 11.19
ArmorStruxx, LLC Lodi,CA 95240
March 2013
