EARTHQUAKE <br /> Earthquake Preparedness: <br /> 1. Know the area <br /> A. Know the safe spots in each room: under sturdy tables, desks, or against <br /> inside walls. objects, tall <br /> B. Know how to shut off gas, water, and electricity in case lines are damaged <br /> (refer to the Organizational Chart at the end of Section A). <br /> Z. Secure Objects <br /> A. Secure all gas cylinders, tall furniture or objects or electric, ssabfirebookcases, <br /> hazard <br /> cabinets, etc. Any toppled water heater, gas <br /> and therefore should be strapped to the wall. <br /> B. Keep breakables and heavy objects on bottom shelves. <br /> C. Put latches on cabinet doors to keep them closed during an earthquake. <br /> D. Keep all chemicals, especially flammables, in cabinets, secured on lower <br /> shelves, or on the floor. <br /> 3. Equipment Inventory portable <br /> battery-operated radio, extra batteries, <br /> A. Have handy a flashlight, a p <br /> medicines, and first aid kits. <br /> During the Earthquake -WAIT IT OUT SAFELY <br /> �.
