After the flood: <br /> 1. Do not visit the flooded facility, unless authorized to do so. <br /> 2. Do not consume food that has come into contact with flood waters; drinking water <br /> may also be contaminated, check with authorities. <br /> 3. When access to the facility is authorized: <br /> A. Do not handle electrical equipment until it is checked and dried by a <br /> qualified individual. <br /> B. Use flashlights, not gas lanterns or torches, to examine buildings. <br /> C. Report broken utility lines to appropriate authorities. <br /> 4. Clean-up and recovery <br /> A. Assess the release of hazardous materials/waste into flood water if any, <br /> and begin clean-up procedures using proper personal protective <br /> equipment. <br /> B. Recommended equipment to have on hand for a flood situation is as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. Pump Units <br /> 2. Forklifts <br /> 3.
