Do not force tools beyond their capacity. Do not use "cheaters" to increase tool capacity. <br />2. Portable Power Tools <br />Portable power tools must not be operated unless the employees using them are trained in <br />their use. <br />All defective power tools shall be tagged and removed from service immediately. Report <br />to shop manager or president. A replacement will be issued. <br />3. Nitrogen & CO2 Air Tanks <br />When transporting and for shop use Nitrogen tanks must be capped and strapped. CO2 <br />tanks must be strapped at all times. <br />4. Extension Cords <br />Extension cords must be of the three wire type. Cords shall be inspected and tested <br />periodically in accordance with the OSHA requirements. <br />Extension cords and cables must be protected from traffic or sharp corners. Cords shall <br />not be spliced. <br />Extension cords must be kept out of walkways and other areas where they present trip <br />hazards. Electrical connections, cables, etc., must be kept away from water or damp <br />surfaces. <br />5. Step Ladders <br />Do not use step ladders in the folded position in place of a straight ladder. Open the legs <br />and secure the locking mechanism of the ladders when in use. <br />Do not stand on the top step of a step ladder. <br />6. Signs/Signals/Barricades <br />Employees are to comply with all signs, signals, and barricades warning of potential or <br />existing hazards. <br />Red barricade tape indicates that entry into an area is prohibited. <br />Yellow barricade tape is used where entry is permitted under certain conditions. <br />A tag should be posted on the tape to indicate the potential hazards and retry <br />requirements. <br />11 <br />
