ECS Refining • <br />MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DOCUMENT <br />RECEIVEL <br />MAY 18 2015 <br />Appliance Recycling SOP page 6 of 14 <br />- ENVIRONMENTAL <br />removed from the ECS Refining site by the contractor used to perforW N <br />evacuation. <br />6.8.13 Used oil is removed and managed in accordance with Section 25250.1-25250.28 <br />of the California Health and Safety Code. <br />6.8.14 Capacitors removed from microwave ovens or refrigerators will be examined to <br />determine if they contain PCBs. Those that do contain PCBs will be separately <br />containerized for shipment to an approved disposal facility. Capacitors that are <br />determined not to contain PCBs will be shipped off-site to an approved recycler. <br />ECS does not drain oil from capacitors. <br />6.8.15 Mercury is found in the switches and temperature control devices in appliances. <br />ECS Refining or its contractor plans to remove the switches and temperature <br />controls from the appliances. They will be removed by the refrigerant removal <br />contractor and taken off-site for recycling. <br />6.8.16 A description of the personal protective equipment to be used during the removal <br />of MRSH: <br />6.8.16.1 Work uniform supplied and laundered by ECS Refining <br />6.8.16.2 Steel -toed work boots <br />6.8.16.3 Safety glasses <br />6.8.16.4 Work gloves (if handling solids) <br />6.8.16.5 Latex or other chemical resistant gloves (if handling liquids) <br />6.8.16.6 Respirator (if removing refrigerants) <br />6.8.17 A listing of tools/equipment that will be used to remove Materials that Require <br />.
