EVACUATION PROCEDURES <br />Evacuations may be announced by any ECS employee, the Emergency Coordinator or a local <br />emergency response agency. Initiation of a Riser Alarm will necessitate evacuation from that <br />location. <br />When an evacuation is announced, employees are to stop work, shut down equipment (as <br />necessary and safe to do so) and go to the nearest available (and safe) exit. Employees must <br />leave the facility and report to the designated assembly area. Do not run. Do not linger in <br />exit pathways or driveways. Employees are to stay together in the assigned assembly area. <br />Follow these procedures in the event of an evacuation: <br />1. Stay calm, think, avoid panic and confusion. <br />2. Stop what you are doing. If there is time, shut off any equipment you are operating. <br />a. Close roll -up doors if they may reduce the spread of fire or flammable vapor. <br />3. Leave by the nearest outdoor exit if safe. Use an alternate exit if the main eG�l1/E <br />blocked or otherwise unsafe to use. Y U <br />a. See the Facility Evacuation Maps for evacuation routes. MAY 18 2015 <br />4. Do not lock any doors as you leave. <br />5. Make an effort to evacuate persons requiring medical attention. The intent isEHEpIRONM�NI IAL <br />NT <br />move them out of immediate danger and get them closer to medical response <br />services. <br />6. ECS employees are authorized to use hand-held fire extinguishers, if it is safe to do <br />so. Otherwise, ECS employees are not trained to assist in fire control. Keep out of <br />the way of fire department activities or other emergency operations. <br />7. Go to the Meeting Zone/Assembly Area. If the Meeting Zone/Assembly Area is <br />directly downwind of the emergency and there is dust, fumes or smoke at the <br />Meeting Zone/Assembly Area; move all ECS personnel to the side or upwind to clean <br />air. <br />a. The primary assembly area is at the dead oak trees located at the North corner <br />of the building and the east end of the parking lot. <br />b. If the prevailing wind causes ECS to move the Meeting Zone/Assembly Area, <br />notify bystanders in the area that it is not safe to stay at the oak trees. <br />8. The Emergency Coordinators may enter the evacuated area to verify that personnel <br />have evacuated, shut down plant utilities and generally assess damage if safe to do <br />SO. <br />9. Evacuated employees are to wait for instructions from the Emergency Coordinator <br />and are not authorized to re-enter building unless you are told it is safe by an <br />Emergency Coordinator. <br />10. The Emergency Coordinator (or designee) will count all employees at the meeting <br />place to ensure that no one has been left inside. <br />
