CVAG New Em ployeel Worker Safety Checklist <br />DATE: <br />Safety Item <br />Comments <br />Use all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) provided to you <br />Know who your immediate Supervisor is - make sure to listen to what your Supervisor Tells You <br />Understand your Job - if you do not understand what you are doing, make sure to ask <br />Use your Head - Concentrate on what you are doing - exercise good judgement <br />Dress Right - no loose ! baggy clothing - wear proper shoes - jewely must be put away, long hair put up <br />Follow all the Safety Rules - make sure your Supervisor gives you a safety discussion before starting <br />Make sure all equipment you are working with is well guarded - if you think it is dangerous, it is <br />Lift Correctly - know how to lift - bend your knees and lift with your legs - never lift and turn <br />Know about Toxic Materials - You may ask for an MSDS sheet on any material you are working with <br />Use the right tool - pliers are for gripping, not hammering - make sure tools are in good repair <br />Keep your area clean - clean as you go - make sure your area is clean when you leave <br />Be aware of hazards in your work area - items that can cause trips, slips, and falls <br />Report Unsafe Conditions - if it does not look safe - it isn't <br />Report malfunctioning equipment - you should not see sparks or smell smoke - report frayed wires <br />Know emergency procedures - ask you Supervisor what you should do if someone is hurt in your area <br />Report all Injuries - what you may think is insignificant may turn out to be something bigger <br />Work safely - no horseplay - no pranks - no goofing around - pay attention to your job <br />Watch out for fellow employees - let a Supervisor know if something just does not feel right <br />Think ahead - if you are in a noisy area, get some ear plugs - if your glasses are scratched ask for new <br />You are provided with Orange Reflective Work Wear - and a laundry service wear your uniforms <br />Make sure to get all cuts, scratches and scrapes treated - your Supervisor knows where the 1st aid is <br />This about your work conditions - drink lots of water when it is hot - get a warm beverage when it is cold <br />Get a good nights rest before you come in to work - well rested and fresh equals a safer work day <br />Comments !
