Stockton Avenue, <br />Ripon, California <br />Mr. Speelman: <br />This report presents the results of sampling activities performed by Gettler-Ryan Inc. (GR) at the request <br />of Speelman Excavation (Speelman) during removal of one 12,000 -gallon underground storage tank <br />(UST) at the above referenced site. This work was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) guidelines and a department representative, Mr. Muniappa <br />Naidu, was present on the day samples were collected. The subject site is located at 237 S. Stockton <br />Avenue, Ripon, California and pertinent site features related to this work are shown on Figure 1. <br />Field Activities <br />On November 12, 2009, GR observed the removal of one 12,000 -gallon UST by Speelman at the above <br />referenced site. No observable holes were noted in the UST. Following UST removal, GR collected soil <br />samples TW -13 and TE -13 at a depth of approximately 13 feet below ground surface (bgs) from the <br />beneath each end of the former UST. GR also collected soil sample TM -13 from beneath the tank mid <br />point at a depth of 13 feet bgs. Water was not encountered in the UST excavation. In addition, GR <br />collected 4 -point composite samples SP1-A,B,C,D and SP2-A,B,C,D from approximately 100 cubic yards <br />of excavated pea gravel stockpiled onsite. Soil samples from the UST excavation were collected <br />manually from the backhoe bucket by filling a pre -cleaned, six-inch brass sleeve. All sample locations <br />were selected by Mr. Muniappa Naidu. Field work was performed in accordance with GR Field Methods <br />and Procedures which are attached. Soil sample locations are shown on Figure 1. <br />Chemical Analvtical Procedures <br />Soil samples TW -13, TM -13, and TE -13 were analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as diesel <br />(TPHd) by EPA Method modified 8015, for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, <br />toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), Methyl tert-Butyl Ether (MtBE), Ethyl tert-Butyl Ether <br />(ETBE), Di -Isopropyl Ether (DIPE), Tert-Amyl Methyl Ether (TAME), and Tert-Butanol (TBA), 1,2- <br />Dichloroethane (1,2 -DCA), and Ethylene Dibromide (EDB) by EPA Method 826013. <br />6747 Sierra Court, Suite J • Dublin, CA 94568 • (925) 551-7555 • Fax (925) 551-7888 <br />3140 Gold Camp Drive, Suite 170 • Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 • (916) 631-1300 • Fax (916) 631-1317 <br />1364 N.
