PE 2546 HANG
30 min SC 544
06/13/2018 Received spill information from Aaron Hang. Called Paige Gillin, president, at PE 2546 ALANIZ
144 min 8:52 a.m. Told him that I would be stopping by the shop to look at what has been SC 544
cleaned up.
Prepared to leave for site at 9:35 a.m. Arrived at the site and met with with Ted
Fremouw. He is the president for the clean-up contractor. Paige had to leave for
a family emergency and told Ted to guide me through the facility.
Toured the site with Ted. The secondary containment was power washed.
Approximately 600 gallons of oily water was generated from the power
washing/cleaning of pipes. The oil water separators were also pumped out.
Altogether, 1650 gallons of oily water and 4000 gallons of oil was disposed of as
non-RCRA hw. The liquid left the site in two pump trucks (one for each).
Absorbent was placed around and in the secondary containment. Ted said that oil
keeps on seeping out. The absorbent will stay in place for several more days until
the oil stops seeping out. The used absorbent will be placed in the used
absorbent bin on site and will get taken out with the facility's other hw.
A drain was observed in the secondary containment. Ted said that the drain was
so oil spills could be pumped out through a tanker truck. I looked at the end of the
line and saw that it was capped.
The dirt along the secondary containment was shoveled out and placed in the
facility's hw bin. Sampling is going to be occurring in the soil area. I told Ted to
inform EHD when that was going to happen and to send us the test results.
No totes or barrels of HW were generated from the spill.
Left site at 10:57 and got back at 11:25.
06/13/2018 Downloaded photos and completed photo log. Photo log was emailed to Aaron PE 2546 ALANIZ
30 min Hang. SC 544
