McDonald Island Underground Natural Gas Storage Facility <br /> ADDENDUM AND EXPLANATION TO THE SEPTEMBER 2010 SPCC <br /> PLAN <br /> Part I, Section 9, Containment Structures and Equipment, of the September 2010 <br /> SPCC Plan states: <br /> Page 1-39 <br /> The production fluid storage tank (C-30) at the Turner Cut Station is located within a <br /> concrete containment structure with an approximately 2.12 feet high containment wall. <br /> The containment has a capacity of approximately 26,517 gallons and is insufficient to <br /> contain a spill of 26,700 gallons. It is recommended that the height of the containment <br /> structure be increased by at least 2.8 inches to accommodate 100 percent of the <br /> capacity of production fluids tank and an the estimated 25-year 24-hour storm <br /> precipitation of approximately 2.6 inches. <br /> Page 1-41 <br /> The production fluid storage tank (C-30) at the Whiskey Slough Station is located within <br /> a concrete containment structure with a containment wall approximately 1.75 feet high. <br /> The containment has a capacity of approximately 19,949 gallons and is insufficient to <br /> contain a spill of 26,700 gallons. It is recommended that the height of the containment <br /> structure be increased by at least 9.6 inches to accommodate 100 percent of the <br /> capacity of production fluids tank and an the estimated 25-year 24-hour storm <br /> precipitation of approximately 2.6 inches. <br /> Additionally, Part I, Section 10, Facility Modifications discusses the facility <br /> modification required to meet secondary containment requirements for the Turner Cut <br /> and Whiskey Slough Stations. This section states: <br /> Page 1-45: <br /> The containment structure around the production fluid storage tank (C-30) at the Turner <br /> Cut Station has a capacity of approximately 26,517 gallons and is insufficient to contain <br /> a spill of 26,700 gallons.
