EI Dorado Street <br /> Stockton, CA 95209 Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> ABANDON MONITORING WELLS, GENE GABBARD, INC., 640 NORTH EL DORADO STREET, <br /> STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY(REGIONAL BOARD LISTS CASE# 391005) <br /> The Workplan for Monitoring Well Destruction was tentatively approved by my letter dated <br /> 3 February 2009 with the following conditions: <br /> • That the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) approves the well <br /> destruction permit, <br /> • That the Public Participation Comment Period, which ended 20 February 2009, did not result in <br /> any adverse comments, and <br /> • That UniFirst Corporation be given an opportunity to take total charge (transfer liability and future <br /> destruction) of any of the two wells located outside of the building for their chlorinated solvent <br /> investigation and enter into an access agreement by 20 February 2009 for said wells which will <br /> not be destroyed under this Workplan. <br /> The 45-day Public Participation period ended without adverse comments. On 19 February 2009, <br /> UniFirst Corporation faxed their letter response to me, which declined the above bulleted offer for the <br /> wells. <br /> Therefore, you are to proceed with well abandonment by completing the permit process with the <br /> SJCEHD. A letter report of the monitoring wells abandonment is due 30 days after completion of the <br /> fieldwork. <br /> Please provide the SJCEHD and myself at least three working days notice prior to fieldwork.
