Oil discharge predictions
The total capacity of bulk storage at the lube including ATF, gear oil, and used oil, is 2,420 gallons. In the
event of a catastrophic discharge, that would be the most at any time leaving the bulk tanks.
Appropriate secondary containment or diversionary structures
If a bulk tank or bulk tanks were compromised, they each are double-lined to retain the fluid inside. In
the case that both the inner and outer walls ruptured, the containment area would become the lower
bay lined with concrete. Floor drains could be plugged with oil socks to fully contain the discharge.
Facility drainage
The facility has no drains leading to city sewer systems near the upper bay floor. The city drains are in
the common driveway area between the wash and the lube. Lower bay has two drains that run along
the north and south concrete wall which could be plugged in the event of a discharge.
Site security
The lube is armed with 24-hour surveillance along with 3 cameras placed throughout the upper bay
area.
Facility inspections
Inspections are done by senior and site management regularly through the year.Additionally, safety
inspections are done quarterly by senior management. Once each year, an outside safety consultant
inspects all facilities including the lube.
Requirements for bulk storage inspections
Lube supervisors perform weekly tank inspections and note their findings on the chart stored on the
used oil tank. Overfill is prevented by tank alarms.
Transfer procedures and equipment(including piping)
Drain pans are located in each bay and are drained throughout the day as needed. The drain pans are
evacuated into our used oil tank using a pump and tubing that run along the lower bay ceiling.
Requirements for qualified oil-filled operational equipment
All lube equipment that contains oil is maintained by the vendor or our maintenance department. The
equipment is to be marked and dated if taken offline for repair.
Loading/unloading rack requirements and procedures for tank trucks
