A summary of what Remediation Service, Int., Geological Audit Services and
VR Systems is offering follows:
Geological Audit Services. Inc (GAS)
GAS is offering an internal combustion unit (Vaclean 1000 ICU) which is a 6 cylinder
engine or a Firecat Thermal Oxidation system. The vaclean unit is priced for purchase at
$452000 + tax and the Thermal Oxidation unit is priced at $47, 500 + tax.
GAS offered the Vaclean 1000 system on a lease basis of $5, 500 per month, stating that it
is possible that it would be more cost effective to lease the unit if it would reach it's
effective limits (the point that it would be using much more natural gas than vapors from
the extraction well, making it no longer economically feasible to continue with this method
of distruction) within a few months. These units do not have computer systems that
constantly regulate the vapor v/s natural gas and are therefore not particularly desirable to
me because of the amount of adjustment and attention required during operation.
Remediation Service. Intl (RSI)
RSI has proposed a six cylinder unit (internal combustion) that has no computer for a
purchase price of $31,900. I inquired about a computer for fuel control, and was told by
RSI that the cost would be $8,650 additional. Listed under optional services is a mystery
charge of $ 1 ,061 .34, and a miscellaneous $ 1,230 which is for installation, I assume.
In the bid description, RSI states that the 6 cylinder unit can be converted to a 4 cylinder
unit at any time during the first year for an additional $6,020. This brings the total cost to
$48, 861 .34 plus taxes.
VR Systems (VRS)
VRS proposes to install a large V8 internal combustion engine with a computer that
controls the natural gas usage (maintaining a good air fuel mixture) . Then when we feel
