APACHE PLASTICS, L. P. ^ ff SS
2050 E . Fremont St. • P.O. Box 5127 • Stockton 'CA 45205014754091466-4356 • 8001527-2243 • FAX 2091466-1730
November 4, 1993
Mrs. Diane Hinson
Public Health Services
1601 East Hazleton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject : Quarterly Monitoring Report
Dear Mrs. Hinson:
The following events possibly of interest to the Public Health Services have
occurred since my previous monitoring report to you dated June 14, 1993 :
• July 8, 1993 - All monitoring wells were sounded and all still essentially dry.
August 18, 1993 - All monitoring wells were sounded and all still essentially dry.
• September 22, 1993 - Authority to Construct permit Number N-38-21 -2 was issued by
SJVUAPCD to construct a soil vapor extraction system served by a Ford industrial
engine (i. e. the VR Systems model V3) .
• October 14, 1993 - Requested change in testing requirements specified on permit N-
38-21 -2 .
• October 20, 1993 - The change in testing requirements mentioned above was granted.
We are finally ready to do some serious vapor extraction remediation with the VR
Systems internal combustion engine. We will begin as soon as possible with the large
machine powered by a 460 C .I.D . Ford industrial engine capable of hydrocarbon
destruction at a rate of fifty-five pounds per hour. All the experts I have questioned
believe that six months with the big system will be appropriate. At that point the big
system will be consuming an inappropriately large quantity of supplemental natural gas.
We will then replace the large system with a V2C system having a displacement of 110
C .I.D capable of hydrocarbon destruction at a rate of fifteen pounds per hour. This
smaller system will be available for as much time as is necessary to complete the job .
