I
13 May 2010
AGE-NC Project No. 07- 1529
Part A and 3 % to 5% Part B to water, depending on the application. The slurry is placed in a pressure
grout pump with an extended output hose. The output hose is attached to the end of the hollow
direct-push rods and the slurry is forced into the formation through the hollow portion of the rods.
Utilizing a truck-mounted compact sonic drill rig equipped with 1 .25-inch diameter hollow push
rods, AGE proposes to advance three soil borings to inject a calculated volume of RegenOxTM slurry
into the ground water slightly up gradient of well VEW-2 at a range of depths between 45 feet bsg
and 55 feet bsg. Additionally, AGE proposes to advance three soil borings to inject a calculated
volume of RegenOxTM slurry into the ground water near well MW-9 at a range of depths between
85 feet bsg and 105 feet. The proposed injection boring locations are shown on Figure 3 .
2. 1 . 5 . Post-injection RegenOxTM Monitoring
Post-RegenOxTM injection, AGE proposes to monitor the effectiveness of the chemical oxidation
reactions through six weeks ofbi-weekly sampling events utilizing wells VEW-2 and MW-9/EW- 1 .
Ground water samples will be collected bi-weekly for three consecutive events and analyzed by a
CDPH-accredited laboratory for the constituents listed in Section 2. 1 .3 .
Ground water sampling procedures are outlined in previous periodic ground water monitoring
reports; however, a low-flow pump system will be used to purge the well and purged ground water
will be monitored with a YSI556MPS, which electronically collects and stores all data points every
30 seconds, through a flow-through cell, not exposed to the atmosphere, for pH, electrical
conductivity, temperature, DO and ORP . Other geochemical parameters will be monitored including
total dissolved solid and salinity.
Laboratory reports for ground water analysis, testing methods and laboratory QA/QC and sample
chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with findings and recommendations.
2.2 . AEROBIC BIOREMEDIATION PRACTICE AND PRINCIPLES
ORC Advanced® is designed to stimulate aerobic bioremediation byproviding a controlled oxygen
release for periods up to 12 months in a single application. ORC AdvancedO is a proprietary
formulation of food-grade, calcium oxy-hydroxide that can accelerate the rate ofnaturally occurring
aerobic contaminant biodegradation in ground water and saturated soils.
Advanced GeoEnviromnental, Inc.
