18 June 2010
AGE-NC Project No. 07- 1529
Page 2 of 3
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX compounds) and the fuel additives
tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) and 1 ,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B and
• Total organic content (TOC).
During each monitoring event, a low-flow pump system will be used to purge the proposed wells
and all evacuated ground water will be monitored with a YSI 556MPS. The proposed equipment is
capable of collecting and storing all data recordings for a period of 30 seconds . Purged ground water
will be routed through a flow-through cell, not exposed to the atmosphere, minimizing spikes in
dissolved oxygen. The proposed instrument will collect pH, electrical conductivity, temperature,
DO, ORP, total dissolved solids and salinity through the duration of the monitoring and sampling
events. All readings will be recorded during the beginning of purging and during each subsequent
purge volume.
DISCHARGE MONITORING
During the pilot test, the proposed media will be monitored into each borehole using a Sensus flow
meter (or equivalent). The volume (in gallons) will be measured at each increment of the injection
and recorded on apre-fabricated field sheet. The amount of amendment injected into the subsurface
and the total poundage of material used for injection will be recorded independently for each
injection point.
AMENDMENT ANALYSIS
Prior to the injection the proposed amendment will be analyzed one time in pure form and one time
at the proposed concentration for the following constituents:
• Volatile Organic Compounds by EPA method 8260;
• Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds by EPA method 8270;
• General Minerals : Alkalinity, bicarbonate, potassium, chloride, sulfate, total hardness,
nitrate, nitrite and ammonia; and
• pH by EPA method 150. 1
REPORTING
Upon completion of Feld work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
Advm ced GeoEnvironmentml, Inc
