. • WHF also directed the completion of two CPT borings (CPT-1 and CPT-2), advanced to <br /> approximately 66 feet bgs and 5 8 feet bgs, respectively, in November 2001. <br /> • An additional seven soil borings were advanced under the direction of WHF personnel in <br /> July 2003. Four of the borings (MW-1 through MW-4) were completed as groundwater <br /> monitoring wells; the other three borings (B-3 through B-5) were grouted to surface <br /> grade. <br /> • ATC Associates, Inc. (ATC) oversaw the installation of monitoring wells MW-5 through <br /> MW-7 in November 2004. <br /> • Damaged well MW-11 was destroyed; and replacement well MW-1 IR was installed, in <br /> April 2005. <br /> 3.3 2006 Site Characterization Activities, Former Apache Plastics Facility <br /> The objectives of the site assessment activities were to: <br /> • Further characterize the extent of petroleum hydrocarbon and fuel additive impact to <br /> groundwater. <br /> • Properly destroy remediation wells that were not useful to the ongoing investigation at <br /> the site. <br /> • Evaluate residual petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in vadose zone soil near the <br /> former UST complex and vapor extraction remediation area. <br /> • Properly destroy a damaged groundwater monitoring well. <br /> • Additionally characterize the geology beneath the site. <br /> To accomplish these objectives, Stratus implemented the following work activities: <br /> • Drilled and installed two 2-inch diameter groundwater monitoring wells (MW-13 and <br /> MW-14)to approximately 115 feet bgs. <br /> • Pressure grouted remediation wells MP-I and MP-2. <br /> • Backfilled the MW-3 well casing with bentonite. <br /> • Developed and sampled newly installed wells MW-13 and MW-14. <br /> • Updated the monitoring well survey for the site. <br /> Prior to implementation of field activities, an encroachment permit was secured from the City of <br /> Stockton. Well installation and destruction permits were subsequently obtained from SJCEHD. <br /> Drilling locations were marked 48 hours prior to fieldwork. Underground Service Alert, <br /> SJCEHD, the City of Stockton, and the current owner of the 2050 East Fremont Street property, <br /> . were notified 48 hours prior to beginning work activities.
