These <br /> actions include stopping all operations and monitoring conditions <br /> at the plant. <br /> • After the situation is controlled, provide for collection, <br /> transportation, and disposal of any spilled material. Recovered <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon liquids and sorbents containing petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons shall be characterized, transported, and disposed at <br /> an off-site permitted recycling or waste management facility in <br /> accordance with applicable laws and regulations. <br /> • Ensure that all clean-up procedures are fully implemented and <br /> notify state and local agencies that the plant is in compliance <br /> before resuming operations. Evaluate the need for follow-up <br /> actions such as excavation of contaminated soil and confirmation <br /> soil sampling. Coordinate follow-up activities with regulatory <br /> agencies exercising jurisdiction over the release. <br /> • Fulfill written reporting obligations to federal, state, and local <br /> agencies regarding the incident. Complete a Spill Incident Form <br /> that describes the release that occurred, the agencies contacted, if <br /> any, and response actions taken.
