After this cut is made, the Vlylar should easily tear
away, exposing the primary pipe
Repeat steps #1 through 4 on both ends of all rum of pipe.
Testing SecondaryJJacket
After completing the above steps on all rums of pipe, you
are ready to perform the initial air pressure test on the
secondary containment jacket.
Step#1: Install an air test boot at each end of all pip-
ing runs. Tighten the band clamps on the air test boots
until they are snug. If you wish to test all runs at one
time, connect the air test boots with a jumper tube avail-
able from APT.
Step 2-Removing the secondary containment jacket.
Once the jacket stripping tool is in place, make sure that
it is not cocked and that the blades are lined up with the
mark. Swing the handle around until it fits into the
groove in the housing, and tighten the handle until the -
tool is completely closed, driving the blades into the sec-
ondary containment jacket. Rotate the tool 1800 to 't
360°one way,and then 1800 to 3600 the other way,until
a complete cut through the secondary containment jack-
Al'T Bl'T-100 By-Pass Tubes available to test all piping
et is achieved.
runs at one time.
Step #3: Look at the end of the pipe and determine
which side of the pipe has the longest spokes separating Step #2: Utilizing the APT air test regulator kit, attach
the primary pipe from the secondary.
