Wilson is a Research Associate and Ph.D. student in the Department of Earth Sciences at the <br />University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, N21, 3G1. His research interests include field and modelling studies <br />of semi -passive remediation technologies and the behavior of gaseous tracers. Mr. Wilson received his B.Sc. in <br />Geology from the Univerisity of Alberta in 1987, and his M.Sc. in Earth Sciences (Hydrogeology) from the <br />University of Waterloo in 1993. He is working on multiscale aspects of <br />biodegradation and dissolution modeling and is involved in large-scale field assessments of natural attenuation. <br />He obtained his Diplom in Geophysics in 1991 from the University Mining Academy Freiberg (Germany), <br />worked at the University of Stuttgart (Germany) until 1993 and finishing his Ph.D. in 1998 at the University of <br />Waterloo. Naas is a field and lab technician in the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Waterloo. <br />She has worked on projects involving the enhancement of natural BTEX attenuation via oxygen release, <br />fertilizer nitrate fate studies, polymer gel barriers, and aerobic MTBE degradation studies. Ms. Naas holds a <br />Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) from the University of Waterloo (1996). Her research focuses on the use of the PMI bacterial isolate in <br />MTBE bioremediation field trials. Ms. Smith obtained her B.Sc. in Agriculture with a specialization in <br />Agroecology and Environmental Quality from University of Hawaii at Hilo in 1998. Scow is a Professor of Soil Science and Microbial Ecology at University of California, Davis. Her <br />research interests include biodegradation of sorbed and volatile contaminants, intrinsic remediation, coupling of <br />physical and biological processes in soil and subsurface environments, characterization of microbial <br />communities by lipid and nucleic acid analyses. He has a long standing interest in the <br />role of cometabolism in the degradation of environmental pollutants. He obtained his B.Sc. from University <br />College, London and his Ph. D from the University of Bristol, England. He recently moved to North Carolina <br />State University after working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Assistant Research Professor in the <br />Laboratory for Nitrogen Fixation Research at Oregon State University.
