Box 6012 Lodi, CA 95240 <br />San Ramon, California 9458 <br />APPROVAL TO CEASE OPERATION OF SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM, CLEANUP AND <br />ABATEMENT ORDER NO. 5-00-704 (CAO), CHEVRONSTATION #9-5775, <br />301 WEST KETTLEMAN LANE, LODI, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />Regional Board staff reviewed the Second Quarter 2003, <br />Q Quarterly Progress Report, Chevron Station #9-8778, <br />301 Wes! Kettleman Lane, Lodi, San Joaquin County (Report), Cleanup and Abatement Order <br />No. 5-00-704; dated 14 July 2003, submitted on behalf of Chevron Products Company and Ivern and Roger <br />Baffoni by SECOR International Incorporated (See enclosed memorandum for staff comments). Your Report <br />recommends shutting off the S VE system, continuing the groundwater extraction (GWE) pump and treat <br />remediation for hydraulic control, and reducing groundwater monitoring from quarterly to semi-annually in <br />several monitoring wells. The CAO requires approval from the Executive Officer prior to shutting down any <br />remedial system. <br />I concur with staff recommendations in the attached memo, and in accordance with Cleanup and Abatement <br />Order No. 5-00-704, approve the Chevron Products Company, Ivern and Roger Baffoni request to cease operation <br />of the SVE system After the soil/groundwater modeling and GWE system rebound test (Staff Continents 2 and 3 <br />k of enclosed memorandum) have been conducted and the report(s) have been reviewed by Regional Board staff, I <br />can reconsider Chevron's request to reduce groundwater monitoring, or consider a request for no further action <br />required at this site, <br />If y u have any questions please contact James Barton at (916) 255-3115 or barton' rb5s.swrcb.ca, v. <br />:-- ! <br />PO <br />THOMAS R.
