L Chevron Quarterly Progress Report (3Q2000) Former Chevron #9 5775, (CAO #5-00 704), 301 West Kettleman Lane Lodi, CA QUARTERLY RESULTS SUMMARY: Current Phase of Project Frequency of Groundwater Sampling Frequency of Groundwater Monitoring Is Free Product (FP) Present On -Site Current Remediation Techniques Approximate Depth to Shallow Groundwater Groundwater Gradient DISCUSSION: Remediation Quarterly October 13, 2000 Quarterly _ No GWE I SVE 55 112' to 59' Shallow zone Southwest @ 0 007 to 0 01 ft/ft Deep zone Southwest , 0 01 ft/ft On July 24 and 25, 2000, Gettler-Ryan conducted groundwater monitoring and sampling (third-quarter 2000) for the above referenced site Eighteen Chevron wells were sampled during this event Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) was reported at concentrations of 67 and 220 ppb in monitoring wells MW -5A and MW -3, respectively Benzene was reported at concentrations of 8 3, 0 73, and 0 57 ppb in monitoring wells MW -3, MW - 5A, and MW -6, respectively Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MtBE) was reported in eight wells at concentrations ranging from 3 5 to 2,100 ppb Ethyl tertiary butyl ether (EtBE) was reported in six wells at concentrations ranging from 14 to 230 ppb and tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) was detected in five wells at concentrations ranging from 2 to 27 ppb Groundwater analytical results were generally consistent with the historical data (Attachment A) Groundwater elevations across the site decreased an average of approximately 0 26 feet this quarter The groundwater flow direction in the shallow water -bearing zone was reported to the southwest at 0 007 to 0 01 ft/ft The groundwater flow direction in the deeper water -bearing zone was reported to the southwest at 0 01 ft/ft Historical groundwater flow has varied from southeasterly to southwesterly An update of remedial system operation and mass removal data is presented as Attachment B LIMITATIONS: The findings presented in this letter are based on data and interpretations provided by Gettler-Ryan, Inc Gettler- Ryan's report is attached The data presented in this summary is accurate only to the degree implied by the sources and methods used No warranty, expressed or implied, is made by SECOR If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at (916) 861-0400 Sincerely, SECOR International Inc M Evans Staff Scientist &.. rumore Project Manager
