A total of eight samples were collected. <br /> E <br /> Four samples (26B-CB-30, 26B-NW-30, 26B-I1ISW-30, and 26B-SE-31 ) <br /> r were taken from the bottom of the excavation at a depth of <br /> appr >ximately 30 feet. Soil samples were taken by <br /> ,�..: driving a clean brass sleeve into freshly exposed soil brought <br /> to the surface in the excavator bucket: '. <br /> f + <br /> I All Samples were sealed with aluminum foil , capped. <br /> wrapped with plastic tape, labeled, placed in iced storage and <br /> 'I <br /> were delivered under chain-of-custody procedures to <br /> GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc. , in Modesto, California, for <br /> analysis. <br /> , <br /> 4.0 GEOLOGY <br /> 4. 1 Regional Geology <br /> The shallow subsurface geology of'.the Lodi area is <br /> typical of the eastern side of the Central Valley. <br /> Quaternary alluvial sediments predominate near the surface and <br /> I. <br /> are underlain by several thousand feet of unconsolidated <br /> 4 7-4L <br /> arkosic sediments.
