Primary piping soap test: One hour pneumatic pressure test at 110% of operating <br />pressure, or 40 psi, whichever is greater, before backfill. <br />d. Secondary piping soap test: One hour pressure test per manufacturer's guidelines. If <br />there are no manufacturer's guidelines, test shall be performed using an applicable <br />method specified in an industry code or engineering standard before backfill. <br />e. Verify piping slopes back to the tank top sumps and verify set -backs per <br />manufacturer's specifications. <br />f. Secondary containment testing (after backfill) on product piping, UDCs and transition <br />sump. <br />g. Line test (0.1 gallon /hour) (after backfill) on the primary product piping by a licensed <br />tank tester. <br />h. Prior to scheduling final inspection, provide as built UDC, transition sump and piping <br />diagram to the EHD. <br />Please be aware that the facility cannot operate the UST system or receive fuel in <br />the UST system prior to the EHD inspection and approval. <br />4. Soil sample analyses include: total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline (TPH-G); <br />benzene toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); methyl tertiary -butyl ether <br />(MTBE); ethyl tertiary -butyl ether (ETBE); di -isopropyl ether (DIPE); tertiary -amyl methyl <br />ether (TAME); tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA); 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2 -DCA); 1,2- <br />dibromoethane (EDB) and include TPH as diesel (TPH-D) for two soil samples collected <br />beneath the two diesel dispensers. Provide analytical results from the soil sampling <br />directly from the Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP) certified <br />laboratory along with the chain -of -custody to the EHD. <br />5. Secondary containment testing for the UST piping, UDCs and transition sump is required <br />six months after installation. Provide a 48-hour notification to the EHD when this test is <br />scheduled. <br />6. Any individual performing the work of a service technician must meet the following <br />qualifications: <br />a. Possess or be employed by a person who possesses one of several permissible <br />valid, current contractor's licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board <br />(may be issued to the installation company), or a Tank Tester's license issued to the <br />individual by the State Water Board, and <br />b. Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically <br />present at the work site who possesses a valid, current California UST Service <br />Technician certificate issued by the International Code Council (ICC), and <br />c. Possesses a valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the <br />component(s) being tested, repaired, or serviced. <br />7. Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or <br />work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the <br />work site who possesses all of the following: <br />a. A valid, current contractor's license issued by the Contractors State License Board, <br />and <br />b. A valid, current UST Installation/Retrofitting certificate issued by the International <br />Code Council (ICC), and <br />2 <br />
