5 Request for Analyses
Soil samples will be analyzed for TPH-g,TPH-d,and TPH-mo by modified EPA Method 8015
or equivalent; for VOCs (including BTEX and MTBE)by EPA Method 8260 or equivalent; and
for metals, including mercury,by EPA Method 6010/7473 or equivalent.
Groundwater samples and equipment rinsate blanks will be analyzed for TPH-g,TPH-d,and
TPH-mo by modified EPA Method 8015 or equivalent and for VOCs(including BTEX and
MTBE)by EPA Method 8260 or equivalent.
Each soil and groundwater sample location with corresponding analytical requirements for that
sample is presented in Tables 3 and 4, respectively(Appendix B). Sample containers,
preservatives, holding times, and estimated number of field samples, confirmation samples, and
Quality Control samples are also summarized in Tables 3 and 4.
To provide analytical quality control for the analytical program, the following measures will
be utilized:
• Nationally certified environmental laboratories will conduct all soil sample analyses.
• Additional sample volume will be collected for at least 5%of samples per each analytical
method to be utilized for matrix spike/matrix spike duplicate analysis.
• Laboratory blind co-located duplicate samples or split duplicate samples will be collected
from 10%of the sampling locations then submitted for soil analysis. A co-located
duplicate sample is a sample that is collected adjacent to the primary sample location. A
duplicate split sample is a 50/50 split of a multi-incremental sample after collection and
compositing.
• An equipment blank for non-dedicated equipment will be collected for each day of
sampling and each type of sampling equipment used.
14:002693.1401.OIBR 5-1
EI Comilio No.I
