This investigation is being performed on behalf of the SPS and is not being <br /> performed in association with any regulatory agency requirements <br /> THE PROJECT <br /> The USPS is considering purchasing the approximately 1.8 acre site, located at the <br /> southwest corner of Airport Way and First Street, to construct a ne Post Office facility. <br /> Reportedly, a concrete slab is present on the parcel. No information was obtain from a <br /> Phase I environmental site assessment performed for the property by others pertaining to <br /> the use of the former structure. The Phase I report did indicate a number of leaking <br /> underground storage tank sites in the vicinity. Prior to purchasing the property, the USPS <br /> would like to evaluate the soil quality beneath the site for the presence of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds.
