since 2002. The highest concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons were detected at wells
MW-2 and MW-3, near the northeast and southeast corners of the former UST area. Low
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel additives were detected in well MW-1,
generally located up-gradient from the former UST area.
On 19 March, 20 March and 21 March 2008 five ground water monitoring wells (MW-7
through MW-11) were installed at the site; additionally one boring (135) was advanced at
the site. The newly installed wells were later surveyed on 29 April 2008.
During the March 2008 investigation, a total of thirty eight soil samples collected from pilot
borings MW7 through MW 11 and ten soil samples collected from soil probe boring B5 were
analyzed for the constituents listed in Sections 2.1.2. and 2.3, respectively. Constituents
of concern (COC) were detected in soil samples collected from pilot boring MW-11 and
from soil boring B5.
TPH-g was reported in soil samples collected from MW 11-20, MW 11-25, MW 11-30,
MW 11-35, MW 11-40, MW 11-45, MW 11-50, MW 11-75, and B5-20 at concentrations of
3,800 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), 3,700 mg/kg, 220 mg/kg, 19 mg/kg, 5.0 mg/kg, 60
mg/kg, 2.0 mg/kg, 640 mg/kg, and 1 .2 mg/kg, respectively.
BTEX compounds were detected in soil samples collected from MW11-20, MW11-25,
MW 11-30, MW 11-35, MW 11-40, MW 11-45, MW 11-65, MW 11-75, MW 11-90, MW 11-98,
• Toluene was reported in the soil samples collected from MW11-20, MW11-25,
MW 11-30, MW 11-35, MW 11-75, and 135-20 at concentrations of 150 mg/kg, 260
mg/kg, 13 mg/kg, 0.14 mg/kg, 8.4 mg/kg, and 0.042 mg/kg, respectively.
