Abdelwahed Facility, UltraSite No. 13792 kJ May 5, 2012
- Stockton California Work Plan Well for DPE Well Installation and Soil Gas Investigation
detected, evaluate the cause of the leak and correct before continuation of
sampling.
Collect soil gas samples utilizing new 50 milliliter or 100 milliliter sampling
syringes (depending on analytical reporting -limit requirements) over at least
15 or 30 seconds, respectively, to attain a flow rate of 200 milliliters per
minute (ml/min) or less; collect one equipment blank sample to verify the
effectiveness of decontamination procedures or possible interference from
ambient air; collect one duplicate sample at SG -2 location to be analyzed in
the mobile lab to check for procedural and analytical reproducibility and
precision; and:collect one duplicate 0.25 -liter Summa canister sample at SG -3
location to be analyzed by an outside lab to check for procedural and
analytical reproducibility and precision.
Analyze soil gas samples in the on-site mobile lab within 10 minutes of
collection for: total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) by modified
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8015; total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg); the volatile aromatics benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX); methyl -t -butyl ether (MTBE); the two
lead scavengers 1,2-dichloroethane (DCA) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) and
for the leak compound DFA by EPA Method 8260B; and utilize analyte
reporting limits at or below the commercial values for the selected analytes
listed in Table E-1, Environmental Screening Levels (ESLs) Indoor Air and
Soil Gas (Vapor Intrusion Concerns) published by the San Francisco Bay
RWQCB (Region 2 ESLs) Interim Final (revised May 2008) and in Table 2,
California Human Health Screening Levels (CHHSLs) for Indoor Air and
Soil Gas (Shallow Soil Gas Human Health Screening Levels, Vapor
Intrusion) published by Cal /EPA January 2005.
Task 3 Abandon all probe bore holes by backfilling with bentonite/cement grout to
within approximately 6 inches from surface; and finish the surface with a
flush concrete plug.
Task 4 Transport and submit Summa canister sample to outside lab for analysis of
TPHd by EPA Method TO -17, and TP14g, BTEX, MTBE, DCA, EDB and
DFA by EPA Method TO -15.
Task 5 Prepare a report documenting the performance of the soil gas investigation
including: a site map showing the soil gas sampling points; a tabulated
summary of analytical results; comparison of soil gas analytical results to
appropriate screening levels; and evaluation of the vapor intrusion/inhalation
exposure pathway and the associated health risk to workers in the site
building.
1792 ME Well WP
Project No. 1792.26 7 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC.
