Abdelwahed Facility, UltraSite No. 13792 kJ May 5, 2012 <br />- Stockton California Work Plan Well for DPE Well Installation and Soil Gas Investigation <br />detected, evaluate the cause of the leak and correct before continuation of <br />sampling. <br />Collect soil gas samples utilizing new 50 milliliter or 100 milliliter sampling <br />syringes (depending on analytical reporting -limit requirements) over at least <br />15 or 30 seconds, respectively, to attain a flow rate of 200 milliliters per <br />minute (ml/min) or less; collect one equipment blank sample to verify the <br />effectiveness of decontamination procedures or possible interference from <br />ambient air; collect one duplicate sample at SG -2 location to be analyzed in <br />the mobile lab to check for procedural and analytical reproducibility and <br />precision; and:collect one duplicate 0.25 -liter Summa canister sample at SG -3 <br />location to be analyzed by an outside lab to check for procedural and <br />analytical reproducibility and precision. <br />Analyze soil gas samples in the on-site mobile lab within 10 minutes of <br />collection for: total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) by modified <br />Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8015; total petroleum <br />hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg); the volatile aromatics benzene, toluene, <br />ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX); methyl -t -butyl ether (MTBE); the two <br />lead scavengers 1,2-dichloroethane (DCA) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) and <br />for the leak compound DFA by EPA Method 8260B; and utilize analyte <br />reporting limits at or below the commercial values for the selected analytes <br />listed in Table E-1, Environmental Screening Levels (ESLs) Indoor Air and <br />Soil Gas (Vapor Intrusion Concerns) published by the San Francisco Bay <br />RWQCB (Region 2 ESLs) Interim Final (revised May 2008) and in Table 2, <br />California Human Health Screening Levels (CHHSLs) for Indoor Air and <br />Soil Gas (Shallow Soil Gas Human Health Screening Levels, Vapor <br />Intrusion) published by Cal /EPA January 2005. <br />Task 3 Abandon all probe bore holes by backfilling with bentonite/cement grout to <br />within approximately 6 inches from surface; and finish the surface with a <br />flush concrete plug. <br />Task 4 Transport and submit Summa canister sample to outside lab for analysis of <br />TPHd by EPA Method TO -17, and TP14g, BTEX, MTBE, DCA, EDB and <br />DFA by EPA Method TO -15. <br />Task 5 Prepare a report documenting the performance of the soil gas investigation <br />including: a site map showing the soil gas sampling points; a tabulated <br />summary of analytical results; comparison of soil gas analytical results to <br />appropriate screening levels; and evaluation of the vapor intrusion/inhalation <br />exposure pathway and the associated health risk to workers in the site <br />building. <br />1792 ME Well WP <br />Project No. 1792.26 7 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br />
