The Addendum
follows recommendations presented by PSC and their subcontractor ETIC Engineering,
Incorporated (ET1C) during a telephone conversation with the EHD on January 10, 2008, in
response to comments and recommendations presented by the EHD by letter dated December
3, 2007.
PSC proposes to advance four cone penetration test (CPT) borings to depths of
approximately 100 feet below surface grade (bsg) at locations presented on the revised
Figure 10 of the Addendum. Instead of using sensors associated with CPT technology, PSC
proposes to use a membrane interface probe (MIP) coupled with the conductivity sensor to:
• Identify depths that are impacted with hydrocarbons using a mobile gas chromatograph
with three detectors (electron capture, photo ionization, and flame ionization); and
Measure soil conductivity to profile the relative permeability of the subsurface and aid
in the assessment of soil lithology.
Data generated will be used to identify and collect depth -discreet grab groundwater samples
at approximately 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 feet bsg from five individual boreholes advanced
adjacent to each CPT boring.
