(ETIC) for PSC Environmental Services (PSC) on
your behalf. EHD concurs with recommendations presented in the work plan to advance
15 soil borings using a direct -push drilling rig to investigate sources of residual
petroleum hydrocarbon contamination, and to further characterize petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination in soil and groundwater near two existing oil/water separator systems,
three former underground storage tanks (UST), a former dispenser island, and points
cross gradient and down gradient of this source area.
Although disparities exist between paragraphs two and six in Section 3.1 and Table 3 of
the work plan, EHD assumes the following soil sampling schedule will be implemented.
• Borings H1, H2, H3, and H4, advanced to total depths of 25 feet below ground
surface (bgs) at both ends of two existing oil/water separators, will have soil
samples collected at 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 feet bgs for analysis.
• Boring H5, advanced to total depth of 20 feet bgs adjacent to cone penetrometer
test (CPT) boring C at the former 10;000 -gallon diesel UST location, will have
soil samples collected at 10, 15, and 20 feet bgs for analysis.
• Boring H6, advanced to total depth of 25 feet bgs adjacent to the storm water
pipeline, will have soil samples collected at 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 feet bgs for
analysis.
• Boring H7, advanced to total depth of 55 feet bgs adjacent to CPT -B at the former
dispenser island site, will have soil samples collected at 5, 8, 15, 40, 45, 50, and
55 feet bgs for analysis.
• Borings H8, H9, H11, and H12, advanced to total depths of 55 feet bgs at both
ends and both sides of the former excavation for the two 6,000 -gallon gasoline
USTs, will have soil samples collected at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and
55 feet bgs for analysis.
