WELL PURGING <br /> Before sampling, standing water in the casing was purged from the monitoring well using <br /> a PVC hand bailer Samples were collected from the monitoring wells after a minimum <br /> of four casing volumes had been evacuated or the pH, electrical conductivity, and <br /> temperature had stabilized In the event that the monitoring well was purged until dry, <br /> the well was allowed to recover to within 80% of its static water level and sampled <br /> All field measurements were recorded in a waterproof field logbook Water sample field <br /> data sheets were prepared to record the field data These data sheets were reviewed by <br /> the sampling coordinator when the sampling event was completed <br /> The pH, specific conductance, and temperature meter were calibrated each day before <br /> beginning field activities The calibration was checked once during the event to verify <br />' meter performance All field meter calibrations were recorded in the field logbook <br /> Groundwater generated from well-purging operations was contained for temporary <br /> storage in 55-gallon drums All drums were labeled and stored onsite in a location <br />' designated by the client or client representative The sampler recorded the following <br /> information on the drum label for each drum generated <br /> Drum content (groundwater) <br /> Source (well designation) <br /> • Date generated <br />' .
