. oxygenate compounds measured in any of the groundwater samples Soil and � groundwater sample analytical results are contained in Table 7 Both groundwater samples collected from boring CPT-1 contained non- detectable petroleum compounds, except for toluene, which was measured at a concentration of 0 8 gg/L in the "upper" sample collected at 45 feet bgs Petroleum concentrations in the upper groundwater samples collected from locations CPT-2 and CPT-3 are all non-detectable, but the "lower" samples did contain measurable quantities of some of these compounds TPH-G concentrations of 100 µg/L were measured in the lower samples collected from both CPT-2 and CPT-3 borings Benzene was measured at a concentration of 0 66 µg/L in the lower CPT-2 groundwater sample, but was non-detectable in the lower CPT-3 sample Toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene compounds were either non-detectable or were measured at relatively low concentrations i 2.3 Water Well Survey A survey of potential off-site water wells within a radius of 2,000 feet from the former Earthgraln's USTs was performed by researching California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and PHS/EHD records, which was followed up with a physical reconnaissance of the area DWR well records were reviewed on March 17 at their office in Sacramento, California, and PHS/EHD records were reviewed on March 19 Three well records were obtained (contained in Appendix 1 of this report) from DWR, although two of these records appear to be for the same location The first well log is shown to be located at Ralph Avenue and Sharps Lane (Durham Ferry Road) It is believed that Sharps Lane is now known as Airport Way This first well, completed in 1949, was drilled to a depth of 100 feet Philip believes that the second well log, for Martin Cerri located on the west side of Sharps Lane (Airport) south of the Ingles Bakery (now Earthgrains), is a re-completion of the first well Martin Cerri's well is an irrigation well re- drilled to 220 feet, perforated from 180 feet to its final depth This well is located about 400 feet south of the former USTs in a cross-gradient position relative to the groundwater flow direction ' The third DWR log states that the well is located at 12th Street and Scribner Street In fact, 12`h Street and Scribner Street do not join A physical search in the general vicinity of 12th Street and Scribner Street, which is now a residential area, did not reveal the existence of a water well This is a well that was reported to be perforated from 192 feet to 408 feet It is likely that any well in the vicinity of 12th Street and Scribner Street would be located greater May 1999 Subsurface Investigation and Groundwater Monitoring Report The Earthgrams Company Facility 2651 South Airport Way Stockton,California Prepared for THE EARTHGRAINS COMPANY Prepared by Philip Services Corp E 11213821121382EG112599710599REP DOC C June 22, 1999 6
