2 <br /> NOVEMBER 1999 GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> ' Philip's groundwater monitoring procedures and findings are contained in this section <br /> 2.1 Groundwater Monitoring Procedures <br /> A Philip geologist performed groundwater monitoring on November 8, 1999 <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MWA, MW-4, MW- <br /> 9, MW-10, MW-12, and MW-13 as directed by Ms Carol Oz with the PHS/EHD <br /> Groundwater samples were also collected from sparge wells SPA and SP-2, and <br /> from piezometers PZ-1 and PZ-2 <br /> Prior to sample collection, Philip's geologist measured groundwater levels in <br /> ' these wells, and the potential presence of free phase gasoline product with an <br /> electronic oil/water interface probe Free phase gasoline product was not observed <br /> in any well <br /> Philip's geologist purged a minimum of three well volumes of groundwater from <br /> each well into 55-gallon drums using a downhole pump and clean, dedicated <br /> t tubing Field parameters pH, temperature, and electrical conductivity were <br /> monitored for stability The 55-gallon drums were temporarily stored on-site, then <br /> removed and transported to Philip's licensed, California waste disposal facility <br /> Groundwater samples were collected with clean, disposable bailers, and <br /> transferred into clean laboratory-provided containers Sample containers were <br /> sealed, labeled, and stored on ice for subsequent delivery to the analytical <br /> laboratory <br /> ' Samples were delivered, with chain-of-custody control, to Acculabs Inc in Davis <br /> California Samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes <br /> (BTEX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G) using EPA <br /> Method 602/8015(modified) These samples were also analyzed for oxygenate <br /> compounds TBA, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME using EPA Method 8260 <br /> 6 <br /> November 1999 <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> The Earthgrains Company <br /> 2651 South Airport Way <br /> Stockton,California <br /> Prepared for THE EARTHGRAINS COMPANY Prepared by Philip Services Corp <br /> January 17,2000 <br />
