California Regional Water Quality Control Board
September 24, 1999
Page 2.
2. BP Amoco plans to install and operate the additional extraction wells and expanded
treatment system until such time as groundwater contaminant concentrations have
decreased to background, to below the project WQO concentrations, or until
asymptotic mass removal rates are being achieved. At that point, it is planned to
evaluate the economic feasibility of continued operation of the three additional wells
based on the factors presented in the RWQCB letter. The analysis will support a
proposal for discontinuing operation of the wells and a follow-up monitoring period.
3. BP Amoco understands that a similar process will be used to evaluate the
achievement of cleanup standards in the source zone wells.
Again, thank you for assistance with the issues regarding this project.
