c nren°
art
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING CORPORATION
October 6, 1995
Ms. Margaret Lagorio
San Joaquin Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
1601 Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95201
SUBJECT: SOIL GAS SURVEY, APPLIED AEROSPACE STRUCTURES CORPORATION,
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
This letter describes the proposed scope of work to conduct a soil gas survey and collect "grab"
groundwater samples at the subject site. The site is located at 3437 South Airport Way, Stockton,
California. Activities at the site include the manufacturing of lightweight composite structures.
SCOPE OF WORK AND SITE CONDITIONS
The proposed scope of work is to collect eighteen (18) soil gas samples from nine (9) locations
and collect three (3) grab groundwater samples. Soil gas sample locations are provided on the
attached site plan included with the document. Soil samples may be collected depending on the
results of the field screening of the soil gas and grab groundwater samples. Information provided
to McLaren/Hart indicates that groundwater is encountered at between 50-60 feet below ground
surface (bgs) in the project area. Soil gas samples will be collected at two depths at each of the
samples locations provided on the attached site plan. The first sample at each location will be
collected at approximately 6 feet bgs and the second sample collected at 12 feet bgs. Based on
results of the field analysis additional soil gas samples may be collected at deeper depths.
Samples will be collected by Tracer Research using their Deep probe Sampler 550 (DPS 550) or
Wonder Whapper. This a direct push rig designed to drive soil gas probes through unusually hard
soils including zones with cobbles and caleche. The DPS 550 is mounted on a one-ton Isuzu
IABP AMER\RC951466.WP
10.06.95
11101 White Rock Road, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 (916)638-3696 FAX(916) 638-2842
,wycedpapw
