Specific data an other domestic wells in the area is not available,
but Communications with a local water well driller revealed that
most wells produce from aquifers below 100 feet.
DEPTH TO 'ATER TABLE:
According to the latest published map issued by the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, (plateaV,) the
water table at this location is approximate) ,
feet below ground level. However, during tank removal and soil
sampling, to a depth of about 10 feet, it was repartad that no water
was encountered in the hole, and no dampness of soil was noted. in
order .`a clarify this apparent inconsistency, the writer visited the
offices of the San Joaquin Flood Control District. A discussion
are of static fluid
with Mr. Hirata revealed that the measurements
levels, and not the top of potential aquifers. Although he could
not reveal specific well data, he indicated that the water wells in
the area were open to zones below 100 feet. A review of the
literature indicates -hat there are many unconnected, discontinuous s
aquifers in this area. The fact tha-' no moisture or water was a
present in the excavation supports these data.
PRIOR TANK USE:
{ The LEST was used for personal use, and had contained leaded
gasoline. "there are no records available to indicate when the tank
was installed, or the amount of fuel usage-
