As noted in the appended report:, the water levels shown on the County maps is the hydrostatic head level of the aquifers in the area and doe3 not necessarily represent the level that water aright either be found or not found if these aquifers are separated front the near surface deposits by aquicludes . Figure 2 shows the water levels for the fall of 1986. These data indicate that conditions were about the same as in 1990 with a water level of about plus 15' . Figure 3 shows the water levels for the spring of 1983, a recent year of high water levels . This map shows that the groundwater head was about plus 20' at that time, indicating that it would rise to within 5 ' of the surface . These data show that the vadose zone, if it is in hydraulic connection with the aquifers below about --100' , where most of the local water wells are completed, could have been ex- tended by about 5 ' between 1983 and 1990, from 5,' below the surface to about 10' below the surface. This writer believes that to be true for the general area; however, local conditions at the excavation site could be different. CURRENT STATUS The site: is as described in the attached report. No further on-site work has been done . Bids have been received for the boring of test wells and permits for these wells, are being prepared for submittal at the time of this writing. on-site activities cannot be started until this report of planned operations has been approved by the EHD. PROPOSED WORK A generalized safety operations plan for the project has been prepared and will be submitted along with the permit applications . The: drilling contractor, Sprectrum ,Exploration Co . , is expected tn supply all necessary safety equipment for their crew and to have their own site-specific plan. Water bevel and Direction--of--Flow Determinations Figure 4 is a slte map showing the location of the property and various pertinent features . The is not a surveyed map, however it was adapted from the -1wner' s property map and it should be accurate .
