Site Health & Safety Plan <br />574 West Grantline Road <br />Tracy, CA <br />5.1 Phvsical Hazards <br />5.1.3 Electrical Hazards <br />cont.) <br />UST Removal and Replacement <br />An electrocution hazard exists due to striking overhead or buried power <br />lines with equipment. Locate and de -energize any power lines which may <br />be contacted. <br />5.1.4 Uneven Terrain <br />Cleared walkways will be established around any debris and equipment on <br />the ground in order to minimize any tripping/ contact hazard. Any <br />obviously uneven terrain will be protected to prevent injury. No employees, <br />unless required by the specific job, will be prohibited to stand near the edge <br />of the open excavation. <br />5.1.5 Noise Hazards <br />Excessive noise exposures may be encountered while using heavy <br />equipment. All persons operating open cab heavy equipment, or <br />individuals operating equipment which is capable of producing noise in <br />excess of the OSHA allowable limits (85 dB, TWA) must wear hearing <br />protection. <br />5.2 Chemical Hazards <br />Due to the nature of the site. The primary chemical hazards have identified <br />as the following: <br />a. Volatile Aromatic Hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, <br />xylenes). <br />b. Non aqueous phase liquid (Diesel fuel and other petroleum <br />hydrocarbons) <br />c. Rinseate Solution (for cleaning tanks) <br />d.
