APPLIED
AEROSPACE
L"S STRf'. TURES
Waste analysis has been conducted for the hone sludge, but no hazardous waste
determination has been made for the liquid hone waste.
Metals analysis shows that the liquid hone waste is not hazardous (Fig. 4), however, we
will be waiting for results for the Title 22 Fish Bioassay which are expected by August
19, 21711.
#15 A spill pallet for coolant was observed in the machine shop with standing liquid in
the bottom.
The standing liquid was absorbed using an absorbent pad and per the approval of the
inspectors, the pad was left there to absorb any future spills. Once the absorbent pad
reaches saturation, it will be placed in the oil/absorbent drum located in the machine shop
flammable cabinet,
Liquid was observed in the spill containment for the 55 gallon drum of water- based
primer in the hazardous waste storage area.
The drum of water based primer had just become full on the day of the inspection and
was being moved to the hazardous waste storage area to be placed into one of the
hazardous waste storage buildings. Upon removing the drum from the spill containment,
absorbent was placed on the bottom and per the approval of the inspectors, was left there
to absorb any future spills.
Liquid was observed in the spill pallet for the Jemstrip waste in the Prime Line
room.
The liquid was drained from the spill pallet and placed in the waste Jemstrip container.
The eyewash station in the Marshall room was observed on the ground.
The eyewash station was hung back onto the wall.
AASC response to 7-11-11 Inspection Page 3
