• • <br /> Herzog Transit Services,Inc. <br /> Job Title: Equipment Supervisor Reports To: Manager of Equipment <br /> FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Code: <br /> Division/Dept.: Mechanical Reviewed/Updated: 05/25/2016 <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> The Equipment Supervisor oversees the inspection,repair,maintenance and cleaning of <br /> commuter rail cars and locomotives and is responsible for the scheduling of maintenance and <br /> repair of the facility, shop equipment and tools. The Supervisor will coordinate all daily activities <br /> of the mechanical and cleaning departments. <br /> ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> • Able to perform daily inspection of mechanical,electrical and pneumatic systems on the <br /> equipment. <br /> • Able to conduct both interior and exterior inspections on equipment as required by <br /> federal and state regulatory agencies as well as company implemented policies and <br /> procedures. <br /> • Prioritizes and complete repairs within scheduled allotted time. <br /> • Proficient and safe use of basic hand tools including digital multimeters,pneumatic tools <br /> and test equipment. <br /> • Ability to read and understand equipment repair manuals relative to maintenance,repair <br /> and troubleshooting. <br /> • Work is performed both individually and within a group. <br /> • Operates as certified locomotive engineer moving equipment within the service facility. <br /> Requirements to become a certified engineer include successful completion of on the job <br /> training, classroom training,driving record background search, a physical and drug <br /> screen. <br /> • Complete equipment inspection forms, work orders and time sheets. <br /> • Ability to transmit and receive directions clearly and accurately utilizing a two way radio. <br /> • Complete required periodic testing and training. <br /> • Able to complete material requisitions including part numbers and descriptions. <br /> • Assists Manager of Equipment and Facilities.Able to lead and mentor Maintainer(s), <br /> Service Maintainer(s) and Utility Workers(s)and Cleaners. <br /> • Able to perform equipment downloads using a laptop computer. <br /> • Computer literate. <br /> • Required to attend meetings, seminars and classes. <br /> • Assists employees in troubleshooting and diagnosing faults and failures on equipment. <br />
