• Assists with daily tank inspections as needed. <br /> • Communicates with Materials personnel. <br /> • Schedules overtime work on equipment. <br /> • Assists in hiring,promoting and terminating employees. <br /> • Operates company vehicle. <br /> • On call continuously for equipment emergencies. <br /> • Performs tool inventory. <br /> • Communicates with Union Pacific Rail Road. <br /> • Assists Material Clerk with material inventory. <br /> • Performs job briefings and maintenance turnover. <br /> • Updates federal regulatory forms. <br /> • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. <br /> • The employee can be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom <br /> absent from work. Employee can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, <br /> accurate,and thorough manner and is conscientious, about assignments. <br /> • The essential duties and responsibilities contained herein describe the scope of this <br /> position,but should not be considered to be an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. <br /> Individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in other areas to cover <br /> absences or relief to equalize peak work periods or otherwise balance the workload. <br /> SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> • Directly supervises all mechanical and cleaning department employees. <br /> • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and <br /> applicable laws. <br /> • Responsibilities include interviewing,hiring,and training employees;planning, <br /> assigning,and directing work; appraising performance;rewarding and disciplining <br /> employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. <br /> KNOWLEDGE,SHILLS AND ABILITIES: <br /> • Takes the lead in recommending and establishing departmental goals and objectives. <br /> Makes a commitment to assist others in learning new skills and processes. Encourages <br /> others to assume responsibilities in the normal course of their daily work and provides <br /> assistance to help others develop their own level of commitment. <br /> • Performs work with a constant awareness of improving processes necessary for positive <br /> growth.Uses extensive knowledge and skill to take calculated risks and does so <br /> confidently and successfully. <br /> • Develops innovative ideas and incorporates them effectively into work processes.Works <br /> with others to incorporate these positive ideas into daily practice.
